I'm Coming Out

OP, congrats on 20 years!

It's awesome to see all things from support to indifference on this site and in society in general. And by indifference I mean people just don't care about it anymore. My mom is gay and so is her wife, my aunt is gay and so is her wife, my daughter is gay and so is her wife, my cousin became a sexually active gay male in the Bay area in the early 80's before there was any awareness and lost him to Aids in the late 80's.

Be who your are, love who you love

Nah, not awkward. Non-issue.

To the 'editor': item mentioned is present in a post from 1:36 today, and is not political in nature at all. Just thought you should know. You may contact me directly for further clarification.

Gay construction worker? A little cliche don’t you think? It’s 2019 I don’t think anyone minds any more.

I think that most AK'ers wish you and your partner a rich, loving, and happy life.

I generally don't wonder around 'General off topic forum' not for any particular reason, just so many other forum choices I guess. Anyway, I stumbled onto this thread. Every coming out story is individual and deeply personal and it is clear to me you have no problems making lasting relationships, like the one you've enjoyed with your partner of 20yrs and many more years to come I am sure. It is also evidenced by 13 AK pages and counting of acceptance, respect, trust and friendship from the many AKer's who just wanted you to know thanks for sharing.

Rob :)

You all know me as the A-hole construction company guy with the PhD in hard sciences, and a fair amount of opinions/attitude. All of that is true. I just have to "come clean" for myself. I am gay, and my partner and I will celebrate 20 years in October. I know this is awkward--it is for me, but necessary (to me).

I don't know how this will be received, but I am who I am and love who I love.

Not sure why i didn't see this early on...
