I'm EXTREMELY happy with Tidal

I enjoy the sound quality of Tidal, but recently the music just stops playing for some reason.

Have you encountered this at all?

I was content at $9.99 w/mil discount for the higher tier using it as the secondary/background to my vinyls at home, also for the hotel HP rig iPhone to a Teac Amp/DAC half the year traveling for work. Never did the MQA thing, DAC limited.
I have since shifted to Amazon HD, seemed to have more stuff I am into.

I like Tidal, while MQA sounds great on my system, i think its a quieter background, or backdrop some people say. I stream through a Bluesound Node2. I also use a Sonos Port, running the Dig out to my Parasound makes huge improvements. The Bluesound sounds better.

i look for titles they dont have, gives me an excuse to buy vinyl or CD’s or SACD’s

I used to subscribe to Tidal, but now get lossless up to 192/24 with Qobuz for $10.85 / month.

MQA is a compact lossy format in search of a reason today other than generating license revenue.
 
I hate the "free trials" with both Tital and Qobuz require a credit card number. It feels like the 1970s Columbia Record Club model. I'd love to see if these services have the music and experience that I want before giving them PII beyond a verified email address.

I'll stick with services that do for now.
 
I have started listening to Amazon music. The ultra hd sounds quite good IMHO, So I will try it and explore the library, probably keep them both but I don't have a DAC that does MQA rendering. may have to get an inexpensive USB MQA dac that sounds good to compare.

Good call, from such strange experiences on streaming services (ie getting auto-playlists full of stuff I wanted little to do with) I learned long ago not to have a user name that could lead a machine to draw the wrong conclusion about my musical penchants. Once it got into the surreal to a point where it suggested The Mormon Tabernacle Choir on my playlist following a search for "Nazareth Live". You'd think AI that has been "familiar" with me for years would have known I was talking about the Scottish hard rock band and not religious-oriented music...:rolleyes:
 
Apple Music with Dolby Atmos is very good, Besides the Apple gear, HomePod's, and their over priced head and earphones an AVR can decode audio Dolby Atmos. I like Apple Music but I have SoundCloud and BandCamp as alternatives. Band camp does not cost anything to load and you can listen to music there at the MP3 level, but you can purchase music directly from the artist. Once you purchase album it is yours in their cloud, and you can download a copy at anytime, MP3, FLAC, ALAC. In addition you can purchase CD, LP, and even cassette tapes in some cases. A purchase of a hard copy includes the album in your cloud account. downloadable as mentioned above. Supporting a musician directly feels real good. With SoundCloud you can use it for free but a paid subscription allows you to download, and have HiRez playback. SoundCloud has a unique catalog of music.

Tidal here for several years. Before that Pandora free. Pandora in my opinion used to have the best algorithm for generating an appropriate play list give a few cues. I think others have caught up. Tidal is way better at play list generating than before.

At home Lumin streamer, Android phone control. On the road Android phone to iFi nano DAC (decodes MQA) into MassDrop IEM, can't remember exact model. Listening to this rig on the beach somewhere on vacation is otherworldly.

It sure is. Soundcloud is the destination for binaural sound. I take perverse pleasure in finding music on Bandcamp, and Soundcloud that is not on Apple Music.
