Important message

the little url icon is called a favicon ... as was mentioned, clear your cache and temp files and the favicon will be forced to reload the next time you access AK.

Oh man. Talk about withdrawals. I went into a cached copy of the speaker forum. And when i clicked the thread of the unknown speakers which turned out to be bozaks. And i was all signed in and all.

Even google chrome worked. Now here ill do a double check.

I resolve to become a subscriber here in the next year. budgetary reasons prevent that at the moment and for the next few months forseeably...SIGH! Thanks AK!

Still can't get past the home page without using MobileLeap (mlvb.net which turns just about any site into a mobile version). As mentioned before, I doubt the security of this so I won't be logging on or posting anymore unless I can get back in the front door. With this "mobile" version I can't see many pics, not even my own albums. FWIW, other vBulletin sites still work fine for me. I'm well aware that I need to upgrade my hardware but it's just not in the budget right now.

Did you clear your DNS cache?

Good point Sam. I couldn't remember how to do it until I stumbled on Carl's post.

As posted by CarlIV:

Have you tried flushing the DNS cache?

Run>CMD>ipconfig/flushdns

Made some DNS changes. Let me know if the problem clears up.

Dave, there's a few guys on ARF who still can't log into VK. I've suggested they clear cache and dump cookies, but would the DNS changes help them as well? If so, I'll spread the news over there.

It should but it could take up to a few hours to take effect.

weird

I can access through a 32bit XP box (fully upgraded/patched/etc) but cannot get to www.audiokarma.org from my win7 64 bit box.

Flushed the cache, rebooted, etc....

Weird.

!?!??!!?

dns changes can take up to 24 hours to effect, but 2-4 is more like it.

I think that if someone's DNS server hasn't caught up with the changes, they can go directly to 207.32.177.8

My vista machine was stuck until I did "net stop dnscache" and then "net start dnscache" in a cmd window.

Of course, there was a fair bit of thrashing around before I found out to try that....

Hey guys is everything fixed yet, Ive only been able to connect at home after dark the last couple of days. Im having no luck connecting at my work PC during the day. Is it something going on with the older XP machine at work or has their been site maintenence during the daytime ?

We have made more changes. Please try to reach the Audiokarma again on machines that could not access it. Report here if the problem persists. Thank you

I couldn't access AK at work all day yesterday (very quiet and boring ATM) - tried many things with IE to solve the problem, message onscreen "DNS timeout error".

Today I tried a Google search for "Audiokarma" clicked on one of the links produced and.... Bingo!

(I moved the following from another thread in Back Alley Pub before I saw your request to post here.)

I still can not log on to AK at work on an XP PC running IE 7 and now IE8. My XP PC and a Mac at home have no problems at all. I am writing this on my iPhone (full browser, not just the mobile version) that also has not had any problems.

So far at work I have tried:
Flushing the DNS, several times and then rebooting
Deleting cookies, history, temp files, form data, InPrivate Filtering Data
Logging on to www.AudioKarma.org - fail
Logging on to http://AudioKarma.org - fail
Using both Google and Yahoo to search for AK and selecting different pages from the search results, all without success, even after flushing the DNS cache and deleting IE content several times.
I also upgraded from IE7 to IE8 this morning and ran through all of the above again, all without any joy.
On several occasions since yesterday I was able to load most of the AK home page but with errors. The AK banner was missing along with several other items. When I attempted to log in after entering my username and password I got the same results as before, AudioKarma.org could not be found.
The only thing that I have not tried YET is a 45 cal to the chassis.

If there is something else that I can try I sure would like to know about it so that I can get something productive done at work today!

Could not log on from home this AM; no problems at this moment from an undisclosed location... (apologies to Dick Cheney)
