Infinity IRS Beta speakers.

Impressive sounding speakers!
I picked up some spare EMIMs and EMITS also, just in case.
I'm driving mine with Macs.
Just wish I had more time to listen to them.

Very fair price and look to be in very nice condition. Similar speakers on eBay are listed at 2-3x this price.
They're a tough sell, especially on eBay:

Shipping is extremely expensive
Parts (L-EMIMs) are unobtainable
Support is nonexistent
Extremely low WAF
Not many people are looking to spend this much on a set of speakers

On the other hand, for some people these could be considered the "ultimate" speaker system.

I just saw the larger version of these yesterday at a repair shop. The ones with (6) 12" woofer and the curved mid/high panels. 600 pounds each and well over 7 feet tall. That has to be one imposing system when its sitting in your living room!

That's the IRS (Infinity Reference Standard), actually a different (and earlier) design. Unlike the Beta, it's designed as a line source. According to some reviews, the Beta, while cheaper, is a better sounding system.

I'm having a hard time imagining near field listening if those. I wonder how far one would have to be to hit the sweet spot.
On the bright side burglars won't be throwing those over their shoulder and running out with them in two minutes.

Yeah, except if they try to push them over the will fall right through the floor into the basement.

(NOT making fun of this)
But this is what I would be faced with. Even IF someone said "hey I'll let these go for $1000."
Lol. Just wouldn't work.

What do you mean? If i could buy a pair of these for $1000 bucks, i throw them over my shoulder and run home with them, no matter how small my listening space.

For a $1000, I'd buy 'em in a New York minute and then spend the next 5 years trying to convince the missus to let me bring them in the house and set them up in the living room.

Lol. I know you would. But the point is sometimes there are speakers too large for some listening spaces and vice versa.

In reality, i wouldn't ever think of buying those monsters unless i already had *another buyer lined up so i could make an extremely quick and profitable sale. Big speakers are cool but those are much too large for my home.

The only real practical use i could see for something like that in my house is a burglar deterrent/area denial system. I could just rig them up to the alarms and when the bad guys break in, the midshighs play recordings of birds chirping at full volume. Once they are paralyzed, i can come in and handle the rest.

No. No there's not.

I can't even take a proper picture of my set-up with my phone cause my towers won't fit in frame sitting on the couch...

But I love them and they sound far and away better than anything I've owned previously. Would I like more space? Certainly. Would I trade them for anything less than Monoliths or CLX ARTs? No.

It sounds like a great deal, but I don't see the seller mentioning the servo amp? Isn't it part of the complete set up?

NEVER MIND - he did say Bass Controller and cables...a pair on eBay listed for over $12,000 in Southern Cali. So this is a great deal!!
