Integrated Amp Suggestions

Hello All

I am new to this forum and so I hope I am going about this the right way. I guess what I'm looking for is a little bit of education and some recommendations. Anyway lets get to it:

My current set up is ProJect Debut Carbon DC TT, ProJect PhonoBox S2, ProJect PreBox S2 Digital (Tidal for streaming), Sony CE500 CDP, Kenwood KR-V6030, ELAC UniFi UF5, AudioQuest Night Owl Carbon.

I'm looking to move on from the Kenwood Receiver to an Integrated amp 80-140 WPC @ 4Ohms for $1000 or less. My S2 digital and phono pre are preamps in themselves so by plugging these components into the analog inputs of an integrated amp, would I be adding extra gain? I'd like to keep these source components in use, but would I have to abandon them and go computer/CD/TT direct into the integrated inputs?

I had a Rouge sphinx v2 and loved it but my piggy bank ran out so I sold it and I had some used amps and receivers laying around so I hooked up my old yamaha rx396 receiver and it sounds fantastic. Not as powerful as the Rogue unless I crank the volume a little higher and turn the variable loudness back a little bit and I find that it's true that the speakers are indeed the most important link in the chain. Now I've got a couple of other receiver here and this 100wpc pyle actually sounds way better than expected. Take care in choosing your speakers people!
 
I've been singing the praises of the Yamaha AS801 for more than two years now. It has an HONEST 100 watts/channel, properly tapered potentiometers (more like pro audio gear), a big power transformer, lots of in/outs including USB, coax and optical, and a very nice ESS Sabre DAC that will do 2.8 MHz / 5.6 MHz and PCM 384 kHz / 32-bit.

The headphone amp is very good, not an afterthought, as is the moving magnet phono input that I've used a few times in the past.

The bad--it's getting towards the end of its product life. This intie has been around for quite a few years now, and I'm thinking Yamaha may be replacing it soon, but that's a hunch.

Built like a tank. $900

Really love the Yamaha amps. I don't have the 801, instead the AS-500 which is 80 wpc. Very clean sound, you can put it in direct mode for a pure signal path and it has a nice phono stage. The build quality is excellent and it has no issue driving whatever speakers I drag home. I would absolutely recommend the AS series of amps!

If you liked your Kenny why not stay in the same family? Notice the clean architectural layout of the true dual mono design.

I have owned Kenwood, when Kenwood was still a great stereo company owned by Trio. They really had some great gear and their reception of FM was among the best because Trio also specialized in SW gear.
 
Run a Marantz pm8005 in one of my systems with Kef r300. Very good slightly warm resolving sound with more than 75 wrms into 8 ohms and lots of current. Previously used with Ohm Walsh 2 100s3 speakers which are very demlanding and it was no problem. Can run direct without tone controls or use good tone controls for lower quality source material . 3 year warranty and made in Japan at the Marantz Reference factory. Unit has been updatedto pm8006 with lots of good reviews. Usually available for about 900 to 1000US. Had it for 3 or so years using it initially as a backup to McIntosh separates. Liked it so much I built another system around it for late night listening with smaller speakers and a remote.
 
A big Sony like a TA-FA7ES might be had for $1000. There many others in the Sony history.

I have a friend with one of these and it is great. A tube pre section with Hypex UcD amp section. Also, the built in MM phono section is really good too. If you can find one used it should be ~$1k or less.
 
exposure amps represent great value sound/dollar, does not have phono input but you already have a phono pre
