My buddy cross the street had one of those. I could never figure that out as a kid, pretty strange.

Those light bulbs where Made in Romania, except the filament I think (in Romanian filament is also the heater of the electronic tube (valve) ).
"Zenith" radios where imported in Romania too.
U.S.A. made refrigerators also, but they where extremly expensive!

"NorMende" cames from "Mende"
21.000 Lei (Lions). That was an enourmous sum of money. 5,000 (5.000) Lei was a good salary back then. Around 20,000 Lei was a small absortion refrigerator.... some had one in balcony on that area, but don't know what happened to it.

B.t.w., the one from the right is the office bulinding mentioned in the 2nd add. As you can see, it haves a Hi.-Fi. store? in it.

Both the left and right buildings are office buildings, trough all they look like apartaments (flats) buldings. Pretty nice, not like today.
