Is my Technics tonearm 4 pins connectors damaged ?

Hello,

I’m new to the forum that i’m reading all the time to get some informations !

I’ve a question about an Technics SL-1200MK7 that i’m not using for DJing.

Do removing headshell daily to clean my stylus can damage the 4 pins connector inside the tonearm ?

I’m using the stock Technics headshell. I’m saying that because i can observe that the gold color is left on a little part of all the 4 pins.

Please look at this picture attached

I wanted to know if it can affect the Sound or not ? I’m sure that i remove my headshell too often since i had this Technics as first turntable in 2019.

It is maybe a normal sign of use... i don’t know.

Sorry for my bad english and thanks a lot for all the anwsers

Arthur

There's absolutely no need to remove the headshell every day. You'll definitely start wearing out and dirtying up connections and contacts with all that movement.

You can dry brush your stylus, use one of those Onzow blobs or even do the Magic Eraser trick. None of these methods ever require the removal of the headshell to clean the stylus.
