The ones I admire are the guys who are pilots-John Travolta, f'r instance, if you are ever aboard an airliner, & he comes on, you're in prolly VERY good hands-Pretty sure he has his ATR-Airline Transport rating- on SEVERAL big birds. He has owned, & was quite proficient on an old Lockheed Constellation-which was considered one of the finest & PRETTIEST prop driven airliners ever. He also owned a Boeing 720, which was a slightly smaller, shorter range version of the 707. George Kennedy was another one, altho I think all he ever had was just a private pilots' license for his Cessna 182. Michael Dorn-Worf on "Star Trek-The Next Generation", is also a 182 driver, & I've heard he also has a jet he "Plays" with. I'm sure there are others whom I've left out. Howard Baker, a senator from Tennessee, was a fellow Lincoln buff-His "Playpretties" were the 1958-60 models which were the largest unibody cars ever built, in that time. I met him at a party once, & told him I was a Lincoln Lover, too-We must have yakked "Lincolns" for a good half hour. It was at a political rally, I guess maybe I was the only person who DIDN'T buttonhole him about politics, but talked about something he obviously "LOVED"... Only other thing I remember about him was that he was remarkably SHORT- I'm 6', & I towered over him. He was no more than 5'6", best I could tell.
