Janis subwoofer with a Jadis Intergrated amplifier

I have a Janis Subwoofer with a separate Interface control and a Jadis Integrated amplifier. I lost the manual for the Janis subwoofer and need help with the connections.

Interconnects from your preamp to the Janis Crossover "input". It keeps and amplifies the bass frequencies sending that to the subwoofer via the "bass output" via speaker cables. Interconnects from the hi pass output to your amp for the speakers.
It's really just a crossover that happens to amplify the woofers signal while passing on the other frequencies to do their usual thing. It's nice in that you can switch the subwoofer off and I believe the entirety of the signal passes on to the hi pass output.

Would love to see your Janis Subwoofer. They made some beautiful pieces. His dad was a cabinets maker or something along those lines so the woodwork was very good. Here is mine from some time back. It is stored away for now.

Thanks for the reply.
Sorry for being so dense but which of the integrated amp connections on the jadis goes to the janis crossover input?, and which connection on the integrated amp gets the high pass output from the janis interphase?
thanks, i'll send pics later

To me it looks like you might have pre outs from the "OUT" connections on the amplifier - the ones that are currently capped off. Those would connect to the respective left & right inputs on the subwoofer controller.

Unfortunately, the integrated amp does not appear to have main input connections for returning the high pass signal from the subwoofer controller. This does not mean all is lost, it just means your main speakers will run full range. That's not inherently a bad thing because it is no different than how it is now. In some cases, however, lightening the load on the amp and speakers using high pass filter can be a benefit.

I'm wondering what the extra RCA connector on the crossover is for. Could it be for an external bass amp?

That's what I would presume it to be, seeing that it's aligned in the same row as the amplified bass output.

What he said.
I am uncertain about that extra single RCA jack. It being a single(mono) jack I would also assume it is for a subwoofer. Line out? my version of the Janis crossover does not have that.

That crossover has a mono amp for driving the subwoofer. It wouldn't be very difficult to have/add a mono line level output.

Other versions of that crossover amp (interface unit) do not have it. Probably a later addition as things were changing in the marketplace.
