Eddie Henderson "Heritage" (1976). I bought this LP because I liked the cover art and was pleased with the content-even if sounding somewhat like Miles Davis of a decade earlier,as if that's a bad thing?

This one is amazing. I listened to it for the first time the other day & it's like Bitches Brew, but years before it in 1967.
 
I'm new to this thread but I'm not new to fusion.

Posted this LP over on the Jazz thread but Bob suggested I put it up here as well.

Lenny White presents Adventures of Astral Pirates. Some great fusion fo sho. :smoke:

Bought several LPs at a used record place I'd never checked out before. Most have been NM so far so I will definitely be going back.

I'm not surprised to see that you're so much of a Towner fan, Bob. I've also been an admirer of his for a very long time, since hearing his work with the early Paul Winter Consort about forty years ago, then with Oregon.

I'm playing all my Mizell Brothers produced Jazz albums in honor of the recent passing of Fonce Mizell.


First i played Donald Byrd's Places And Spaces and now i'm playing this great album by Johnny "Hammond" Smith.

This album is essential if you're a fan of 1970's Jazz Funk/Fusion.

Towner is amazing. Collin Walcott is another favorite.
