That would be, of course, the 130A (no "D"). Yeah, I know there was a "D-130-A" back in the '40s, but that's not the one you're talking about.

According to Harvey Gerst, the "D" stood for "Duraluminum Dome".

I'm thoughly enjoying these.Found 8 feet for the 2 cabinets that will raise them about 4 inch's off the ground.As is ive listening to them on the Scott LK150/LC-21 preamp and have settled on having the treble and bass settings advanced to get them most out of them.
Half volume and they rock the house yet stay well detailed,voices and piano in particular are very good.I may just source another pair of JBL DLH175 horns and install them into the front baffle.
Defineately was a great score if you like big sound!

Cabinets were raised 4" off ground by placing 8 legs (4 each cabinet) underneath them.

the c abinets came without feet under them.I had 8 wooden feet sitting around here and will screw them in place to the bases of each cab to raise them up

Good point, brain cramp on my part. The "D" originally stood for "driver" - even the early horns had the "D" designation. But it later became the indicator for the aluminum dust cap.

Update,picked up another pair of JBL 075 's for the project,unfortunately buddy I got them from couldn't find the n-2400 xover box's he had stashed ,house was full of vintage goodies
I will try to get my buddy who's a tech to make me some home made jobs,he's done it before for me in my Tru-sonics
Any other info on a good homemade x-over for these 2 drivers would be appreciated.The boxes measure 30"H 22" W 14" deep

I had a pair of EV X-36 crossovers kicking around from an old build from my buddy and just hooked them up to test to see if both my new 075s were working as should and even with the d130f...There repopulated with new caps.Well I can say the x=36 xovers have transformed these speakers!!
I'm not sure of the xover points in these but these are working as a C-37 loaded cab would now

The EV X36 crossovers are better than the N2400, they cross over at 3500 cycles compared to 2400 on the JBL ,speaker baffles will get the 075 horns cut into the front baffles tomorrow and i'll mount the EV x-36 crossover boxes on the back panel like a stock c-37 cabinet
These are packing great sound and fill a big room,HHscott LK-150/LC 21 at 10 oclock on the volume rocks the house..reminds me of my JBL 001 loaded cabinets

If you still intend to source LE175DLH mid-horns, then you'll want to cross the 075 even higher. If you're just running two-way with a 130A and an 075, then there can't help but be a rather large dip between the upper reach of the LF and where you cut in the UHF. I know it exists even when using the D130 with its lighter voice-coil and full-range-intended aluminum dome, so it must be worse with the 130A. Unless I misunderstood what you're using now.

I love my JBL C36s with the 130/075/2400 configuration.

Any suggestions on wether i mirror image these drivers in the from baffle or not?Wont be enough room to center mount ubove the 15 inch d130

This fixes the dip, dramatically increases the horizontal distribution, and removes that "in your face" sound associated with the ~10-12kHz peak turning the 075 into a piece of high fidelity equipment.

I'm sure those slant plates would work well but when keeping grill covers they would be hard to integrate .I don't get the dissatisfaction with the 075 having 2 pair now,some are saying they are beamy ect but I enjoy them the way they are.They have decent dispersion and they integrate well with my fullrange main drivers.Im running 5KT Trusonics in my 3 way cabinets and their very close to the jbl 075's sound wise and zero complaints,just joy.My other go to main speakers you can see in the pic I mated JBL 075's with Stephens FR 150's sound superb

well got slamed by the flu since the last post,just starting to feel human again today so got started.one speaker almost done..

Well the speakers turned out great with the addition of the 075 mirror imaged into each baffle but wouldn't you know it I get the speakers done and running with my HHscott tube system and a good audio buddy contacts me and today and offers me a pair of JBL c-35 cabinets that need a bit of refinishing and a DLH 175 horn for a smokeing deal.
Looks like I will be picking them up tomorrow so will switch the drivers and just need another dlh175 but will run them with the 075 for now
will post pics of the new to me cabs tomorrow
