JBL J-320's worth?

Like the title says, what would be a fair price for a set of JBL L-320's in decent shape? Cabs are definitely not mint, but not trashed either. And would these be a good speaker for a fairly large room with a cathedral-style ceiling?

L 300? They are big, and would work in that environment. They are very large, and heavy.

Pics would help.

The J series (I suspect the L in the actual post is a typo) was JBL's entry level line in the early-mid 1980s. I personally wouldn't pay much for them; I owned a pair of J-325s when in college and was happy to get rid of them. I found the highs muffled and the sound overall was not very dynamic. The later A series (e.g. J-320A) was a little better but still nothing to write home about.

Personally, I wouldn't pay anywhere near $200 for these.
What do you have now?
Are you desperate for new speakers?
Have you owned other JBLs?
These may fill your room, but not as well as many others would.

Nope, not desperate. :rflmao:

Yes, I own JBL's, both in my audio gear and in my guitar amps..I like JBL's, a lot!

Right now, I have three sets of speakers, a set of Cerwin Vega D-3's and a set of JBL 2080's in my music room, and my old set of Sanyo SS 685 Bass Reflex speakers in my den, which is directly adjacent to my music room.

I'm wanting to score a better set for the den and move the Sanyos out to my workshop for a sound system out there..While I'm really partial to JBL's, (what I would really like would be to find a nice set of L-100's I could afford), I'm certainly open to any good speaker set if the price is right.

I will admit, I'm not as familiar with either the value or the manufacture dates of the various JBL models as many of the folks here on AK are, thence my question..But I'm learning!

JBL J320s are NOT the legendary L300s.
Not comparable - not even close.
But certainly much more affordable!
