I just sold mine for over 900 on Ebay and the buyer drove all the way from NJ to get them. He is an Asian gentleman who buys clean examples and ships them to the Orient where they are in big demand. I miss them already. They are not the smoothest sounding speaker, but with a little EQ, they have a sense of liveness and immediacy that you don't get with low efficiency, small driver speakers.

Yes, the ad was legit. Not sure why it was flagged, but seller reposted again. Seems like the consensus here is that they are over priced for what they are. After figuring shipping involved costs, I felt that the asking price was fair enough to buy them. Especially with local pickup. They are in very nice condition, and with some Howards feed and wax, they should perk up nicely. These are the 1st big JBL I have owned, so wasnt sure what to expect. All I can say is that they dominate my listening room, dont need much to get them purring. So far, no buyers remorse on these.

VERY cool - I've tweaked mine a bit over the years, but if the cabinets and horns are in good shape, its a heck of a start on keepers ...
with a pair of 2405 slots and some new built crossovers, you can push them close to L300 territory (tho most folks swap the woofers to do that)

Absolutely, these will need plenty of room for sure. This is a temporary placement until I can move some things around or move some stuff out. I had an empty room for the excess gear, but because of the economy, both my son and daughter are having difficult times right now, so they are now living with me for now. I have a 2br condo, so not much room to store anything. Sure is nice having my kids around. Wouldnt have it any other way.

To change the subject for a minute, my daughter came home from work the other day, and asked if she could listen to an lp she just bought. Well, I dont have a turntable, so she bought one of those too. Now thats my girl!!!

I miss the pair I had...in the den I had them in, they had a better tonal balance and better bass than my Valencias. Downstairs, I used an EQ, but they sounded very good with the low bass up about 3db and the midbass down by the same amount with a small dip in the 1.5k-5k range to smooth them out. Great impact.
