JBL L166 horizons with 128h

Want to use these 128h in these nice JBL's I have a they came with some crappy radio shack woofers. Can't find 122a so seeing if 128h will work without any xover mods.

This thread says you need to mod them due to the extended high frequency response of the 128H.

I also picked up a nice pair of L166 with Radio Shack woofers. Mine are the latter model with the additional transformer in the woofer section of the crossover. The 128H series woofers works if you have the transformer or install it in the crossover and many feel it's an upgrade.

The JBL tech manual for the L166 shows the 128H-1 as the recommended replacement for the 122A and 122A-1.

Ok I thought the -1 needed the inductor so 128H-1 122a-1 122a and 128h no inductor
