JBL L26's?

Any thoughts on how much a pair of JBL L26's should be worth in very good condition. I have never had a pair of JBL's and could use your expertise on these.

They are not nearly as sought after as many other JBL speakers, but an excellent pair may go for around $200-300?

BTW, I really enjoy mine, and they play almost everyday.

l26, the decade 2way?

I had a pair of those with bad woofers, i remember getting around 60 or so for the tweeters on the bay a LONG time ago. course, recently i tried to give away the cabs and crossovers and got no takers on freecycle. which is a little surprising cuz they're in pretty good condition.

anyway though, the tweets in those are worth at least 60 on their own.

FWIW, I sold my pair locally for $125. They needed a light refinishing but otherwise were in above average condition. I thought they were very good pair of 2 way JBL's - to my flightline ears.

My father-in-law has a pair of these...or maybe they are 36's. Anyway, I remember when my wife and I first met in high school about 17 years ago he had me take the woofers down to get refoamed. He then put them upstairs and never listened to them again. I think I am going to take those and the La Scalas off his hands (already got his other gear but sold off all but the Shure V15III cart). I was checking the woofers out and I just barely tapped the foam with my finger and a hole appeared. I would have thought that being kept in a house in a part of the country that is humid they would have lasted longer than that. Should I refoam before I sell them or since it's not that bad or should I let the buyer do that and how much would it detract from the price? I think there is a local guy that refoams for $50-$75 a pair. My Advent refoam job was a disaster so I am not going to do it myself.

If there in good shape they are a keeper for sure I have a set of L36s I just got at goodwill and refoamed them and did a little finish work and sound great and will be around awhile.

My L26s (125A woofers) were my first refoam project, and I had no problem at all...

Mine were practically my first refoam, & came out nice as well. Just gotta pay attention to what you're doing. I did one other pair before that, but used clear silicone, which was a bit messy. Lesson learned, use the right glue. :D

You guys must be pro's then! :D
I got the kit from looneytune2001's eBay store, and just followed the instructions carefully.

FWIW, I am an electronics/avionics technician with several decades experience, but that gives me no special speaker cone mojo.
