Aside from music, Barlow's.work as a co-founder of the Electronic Freedom Foundation made him a key figure in the establishment of the Internet as we know it.

Bringing me down,
I'm running aground
Blind in the light of the interstate cars.
Passing me by,
The busses and semis,
Plunging like stones from a slingshot on Mars.

always loved these lyrics, Barlow and Hunter were both genius.
