JOKER

Qdrone the score of which you speak is the one from “Batman Returns” which had Danny Devito playing the Penguin. I completely agree with you regarding its excellence. Why Devito wasn’t even nominated for an Oscar for that role is beyond me.

I too was moved by the score to Joker and ordered it. Can't wait to play it in the dark on my reference system.
You might like the score to Tim Burton's Batman penned by Danny Elfman (Oingo Boingo). It is excellent and is a piece of vinyl I listen to quite often. Great SQ.

Will check that out. I got a few pieces of that on a compilation disc from Telarc (one of those show-offy discs you always hear at audio exhibits) and they're amazing.

And great minds think alike, I just spun Joker soundtrack last night, no interruption, all the way through, in a dimly lit room. A fairly short ride at 36 minutes or so, but just so perfect for that film.

The bathroom scene has been reinterpreted on Youtube by a guitarist who had previously redone some Bjork songs. I dug where he was going with it, and learned one of them. I will likely learn this as well. Here's the video -

I believe he's tuned to open D, but I haven't delved into it yet.

Saw the movie last night, thought it was excellent on so many levels.
A lot of parallels with 'A Clockwork Orange '. (Right down to a fascinating soundtrack )
Definitely not a 'DC comics, spandex and special effects', effort.
Joachim is nothing short of brilliant.

I think where a movie is criticised then the fact is that it comes too close to the truth about our society.

I saw a similar thing with the movie Idiocracy (which I consider to be a great documentary for our times). The movie was generally ignored by the film company and advertisers. When you watch it, you can see why its now a cult classic.

That movie should be required reading before anyone decides to make a carbon copy of themselves. Far too prophetic to be played on the usual channels.

An astute POV on "too close to the truth...".

On the proverbial "fence" with Joker. Great portrayal of a disturbed person not fitting in anywhere and being treated as such.

For some reason the last scene just didn't go down well with me. It is too close as sc pointed out, that the "burner" is on full, and the "pot" about to burn over.

Sometimes "truth" is scarier than "fiction"!
