:D Think I've seen everything and then these? Are they 'acoustic suspension' or ported? i.e. removing the cap fill becomes ported? or open just a little? :D
I guess you could remove the cap, pull out the spout and use them as " adjustable, directional" ports. :thumbsup:
 
Did you include any acoustic padding behind the speakers to possibly prevent any "boxy" type sound?

Drilling several small holes in the back, then covering them (inside) with padding helps too!

Just a thought, if you burn a voice coil while testing, in the presence of gas fumes, how far will the cone travel across the room? :eek::D:idea:

That is creative use of materials and i'd bet they don't sound half bad. But my question is how many db per gallon do they get?
 
errr wouldn't that be 'watts' per gallon per the watt per meter spec? larger gal. container? w/ larger speaker? (I've seen a pair of speakers made out of those army surplus gas cans.

bet those would be an ideal set of shelf speakers for a fire dept. :D
