JVC does not get much respect

TT-81 with CL-P2

best regards,
JVC_Graz

:thmbsp: Thanks for the heads up on that. I haven't found any paper on them yet, none for free anyway. I will open them up first and check them out before I attempt to run both pairs at the same time.:smoke: :smoke: :smoke:

Here is a download link to the various 501 Bose speaker owners manuals .pdf the impedance can be found on tech info page they seem a little ambivalent about the impedance they use the phrase "nominal impedance 8 ohms " on the same speaker they list as 4 ohms . 4 ohms with a nominal impedance of 8 ohms
ya got me?

looks like one arm is longer than the other that is done sometimes on high end and transcription turn tables to facilitate different recording /playback characteristics
of different records also the longer arm can reduce tracing angle distortion.
usually this is an owner modification but not always don't know on this JVC.

I have that integrated ($10 at the thrift), but it is dead in one channel. Is it worth fixing?

I wish I had the matching tuner.

Yea why not get it fixed then you can start looking for the tuner and tape deck unless you already got that .

I have no interest in the tape deck. I was hoping that JVC Graz (or anyone) had first hand experience with the unit and could comment on it's quality.

No experience with this unit so Graz is your guy but i would say it was one off JVC top amp from the late 70s early 80s and for the price you got it for you wouldnt lose to much if you got it fixed.

I'm thinking about picking up a RS-7 once I get paid. Dusty as hell, but it supposedly fully functional and it has VU meters.

I'm a sucker for meters :P.

they are just signal strength meters for tuning not power out put

I have a RS-7 and a RS-5 they are great sounding units.

I have the same A-X1 Amp, they're not a bad bit of kit, I used it for 6 months, the only reason I replaced it was for more power.

it's for sale now if anyone wants it...Aus only

Just picked up these SX-E5's. Three way, closed cabinet with passive bassradiator. Kevlar 6.5" woofer, 2.5" mid and .8" tweeter. 80 Watt RMS, sensitivity 86 dB, nominal impedance 6 Ohms, frequency range 45-30.000(!) Hz. So how does that sound?

Hmmm... :thumbsdn:

I was working for a warranty station that handled JVC as well as other brands. We used to call JVC "Japan Victim Corporation".

We were a pretty salty crew though. Most brands had unflattering nicknames.
It didn't help when JVC released a karaoke unit and gave it a "K-99" model number. They made it too easy to be made fun of. The K-99 was a dog too.
