JVC does not get much respect

That's a JVC JA-S44...

These work very well together....victor sx-511 speakers...jvc js-s44 amplifier.http://www.youtube.com/user/VICTORAMPLIFICATION?feature=mhee

That was my first system that I bought new on layaway. It came with a pair of Altec Lansings Series 3 and I used to show off by blowing matches out with the open port on the speaker. Later on the foam fell off and I replaced them with Cerwin Vegas D7's. I loved my JVC and the sound it produced through either of these speaker and relunctantly gave it and the Vega's to my son when I replaced them with a Pimare set up with a pair of Pro Ac D15's. Now my son has my system and last weekend we refoamed the D7's and his is estatic with his new system. I'm happy to keep it in the family.

I forgot to mention that I've had a JVC 200 disk cd changer for almost 20 years now and it's still working like a charm.

In the 8 years before that, I went through laser pickup heads in a Parasound and a Sony. Come to think of it, I've got a 10 year old Sony now that's going bad. But the JVC keeps kicking.

Although most of my experience with JVC has been with their portables - five that I can remember - I really like their stuff. My first JVC component is the KD-55 cassette deck that I currently own and am very please with.

Have had a great experience with a JVC FX-1100BK tuner circa 1987...without the manual it's a bit tough to figure out the buttons, but it's a good sounder, I'd compare to the Yamaha T-85...FM Tuner info.com has a good write-up on it.

At my current location with no outdoor antenna it does the best job of all my tuners....

Here the victor top turntable- QL-801- only one unit at the world ..;)

Jvc kd-d55

This the JVC KD-D55 from my collection.
A 3 head deck made in 1981, with a good sound
and solid build quality.

Just picked up a KD-D20 deck at GW this weekend - for $3.50... I got it with the idea that I might be able to use parts in it to fix my KD-D40. Didn't figure it would work very well since it is 30 years old now.

Plugged it in and it works like a charm. It works and sounds so good I think I might feel bad scavenging parts out of it with hopes of making my other deck work.

I'm impressed and amazed.

I can't say enough good things about my TOTL KD-D50 deck. It has just about everything I've wanted in a deck, besides Dolby S. Picked it up for $10 at Goodwill on my birthday in December, and it's needed no modifications apart from a good head cleaning!

I am so insanely green right now I can't take it. I miss my KD-D40 a lot.

I picked up this excellent set last summer for around $55 and it plays just as good as it looks. This is the A-X1 amp and the T-X1 tuner. I also have a JVX KD-X1 tape deck that performs flawless and sounds great. In addition I also own a mint M-70 boombox - a very lively box. It´s good to see all the love - JVC definitely made some nice stuff back in the days IMHO. iPhone pic below;

A pair of the JVC floor-standing 3-way speakers made me an audiophile last June. $40 for the pair. It was the first time I had ever listened to music from speakers and got that "Oh wow" feeling. They are 60s or 70s speakers that are warm, open, and musical. It was really a revelation to me. If you crank up the volume, they never seem "loud", only bigger and wider and more open. You guys know what I mean. Some good things are now considered rare, and others are merely forgotten by history...

I just bought this to go in my bedroom. It's a JVC R-X500. I bought it because it had the remote with it and the EQ built in. First I read that it sounded very good, then I read other post saying it was just average. I've seen it say it was 60wpc, then also 100wpc ?

Anyone have any info on it please.
