My Dad sent me his JVC QL-F4 but the motor is not working. Sent to JVC for repair but they do not make these motors anymore. Anybody have any advice how I can get it running again? It is so nostalgic, I'd hate to use anything else!

You're sure it's the motor? Direct drive motors seldom go bad. If you're sure it is, the only remedy is to find another tt with the same motor and transplant it. No doubt it has nostalgic value, but (like a girlfriend), find another decent, vintage turntable and you'll forget this one in short order.

Does it power on? its possible all it really needs is a good cleaning with Deoxit.
