JVC QL-Y5F Turntable electro-dynamic servo tonearm?

Did you balance the arm+cartridge first, with power off?

He got the issue resolved. It reads as if he added the tracking force and the servo added the set tracking force, too.

Manual says to balance the arm at record level and set the A/S to the tracking force. This sets the tracking force supplied by the tonearm. There should be no tracking force supplied by the counterweight on setup. Interesting. Gonna get a lot of folks setting tracking first and having too much if they don't follow the instructions in the manual.
 
These servo arm tables use the servos to set VTF. So of course, the counterbalance is only used for arm balancing. Same for Denons.
