That’s what I needed, some hand holding, thanks for that. So I removed the c and it’s decently tight in the stripped a channel. It will definitely suffice. C isn’t gonna be used anyway.

Other units have those. Ka-3500 (I think), KA-5500, 7300, 8300, 9800. KT-8300, 9900 and maybe some cassette decks as well

Can anybody else confirm if the ka-3500 will work?
I found some online and they look the same as far as I can tell.

Yes, the switch covers are the same.

Fully confirmed. Just purchased a KA-7300 missing the mode knob, ordered a knob on ebay listed as fitting a KA-3500. It is an exact match.
