When I have My Kenwood Cassette Deck in rewind or ffw it squeaks other times the motor runs great belts? when the cassette deck is in play mode the motor runs very quiet. The Cassette Deck is Model # KX-W6020

I have a Kenwood Cassette Deck KX-830. There is no rewind or fast forward. When you hit play it slowly gets up to speed. Is it worth fixing? When running was it considered high-end, mid-fi or cheap?

You may need new belts and a good cleaning. This unit was manufactured in the 1977-1979 time frame I believe. I'd say mid-fi range. The KX-1030 was TOTL, KX-830 next, then I believe the KX-620 and then KX-520.

I've never replaced belts before. Is it hard? Is there a tutorial?
