Kenwood Owners Show Us Your Kenwoods!

I picked up a 700M for $250 (non-working) back in October. I couldn’t fix it and another local tech couldn’t fix it either. Then I brought it to the best tech in the area, Matt’s Vintage Audio in Cincinnati, who was about 6 months backed up with work. It’s been a long wait but today I got the call that it was ready.

This 700M looks and sounds amazing! Above it is a Kenwood Model 650 which is champagne colored. I thought it would be a mismatch but the 700M has the exact same color! Now Im not sure if I really need the matching 700C. But I’m sure I’ll buy eventually since I’m OCD about this stuff.View attachment 3513438
Nice!

Two Kennies arrived today:

An used and abused KR-9940 that has a lot of cosmetic flaws and it needs a lot of love but fortunately is in decent operational condition. Sounds really great, in fact i think this is my favorite receiver to date; big warm sound with lots of detail without being harsh.

And a KA-8006 in more decent shape:

Another nice surprise. I haven't heard a lot of integrateds yet but for me this one is amazing; sounds so great that it became #1 on my list of owned integrateds, and i can say the same as a headphone amp.

I have to agree with you. I have a 8006 that was just restored earlier this year.

I have KR-9400 awaiting the 'factory service bulletin' update and newly acquired KA-9150 / KT-6550 pair purchased from an ex-serviceman who brought them back from overseas in the 70's.

Question on the colors though?

Black? Gunmetal? Bronze? Champagne?

What do I have?

I just got this KD-750. It's dirty, un-serviced and sporting a Pickering XV-15 cartridge with a D1200 stylus. And yet it sounds better than my other tables. I'm impressed.

Complete refurb by Dan Mattis/DRM Audio 3 years ago. Incredible sounding for being 40 years old. Better than new. Original owner bought new in Japan

I've had this for over a year. Haven't used it much as the oscilloscope tracing would slowly fade in use.

Just finished recapping it and seems "all better". The Kenwood Kc-6060 is built like a tank!

The 0.1 uf 1600 wv when tested read .o3uf ESR greater then 25%. The rest were similar. Glad I finial recapped it and it's matching amp & tuner.
