Just picked up these beauties. Original owner estate sale. Very nice cabinets. Just need to redo the grills and shine em up.

Short of breath and drooling here...wow. Question: can those external crossovers damage them if all knobs are maxed?

Spend some time reading up on those speakers. Same drivers as the Model 5s but bigger cabinets. They will take huge amounts of power too.

All the restoration details of the Model 5s apply too.

Cheers,

David

Terrific score!
As with almost all vintage KLHs, a recap and woofer surround reseal should be done. A light block sanding of the cabs and several applications of Wastcos oil will make those cabs glow!
Looking forward to more details and pics as you progress.

Any details on the surround reseal? I have a pair of 6's that probably need it.

Those 12's look sweet! Great find.

eBay seller vintage-ar sells the correct sealer, or contact Roy C. directly, as he developed and tested the sealer.

Thumbs up for the vintage-ar sealer. Worked perfectly on a pair of neglected KLHs. Amazing how it rejuvenates the old sealer.

and I'd spend a little time to see if you can gently clean the grilles before tossing the fabric, because you won't find replacement fabric that matches it....
