KLH Model 6 Recap

Hey, how in the heck did you save the grille cloth on those unit construction Model 6s? Did you somehow actually pull the entire front panel out and unwrap it?
For the life of me, I couldn't figure out a way ... You are my SUPERHERO!
 
See my thread. Broke epoxy crossover and used a long piece of wood on the four inside corners to puch out front panel. Carefully peeled back edge of grill cloth to recoat woofer surround. Put everything back together after replacing bad cross caps to restore dead tweeters. Also removed shellac finish and oil rubbed cabinet that was stamped inside with a signature 1963.
 
So were the front panels nailed, glued or nailed AND glued in place? I got the feeling that they would have needed quite a bit of glue in there to seal things up with the layers of grille cloth and "slop" required to allow them to slide in place.

All of the above. Long piece of wood put in the back after breaking the epoxy crossover that fell inside and hitting all four corners with the wood and a hammer to knock panel out the front. Kept everything intact and gently peeled off the corner of grill cloth near the bottom to reseal woofer cone. Easy access to crossover caps.
