KLH Twenty Three, pair, in boxes, Mpls

Took about 40 minutes. It would be good if someone here got them, I'd like to know if they're new (which I doubt) or what. I have a pair already but wouldn't mind a stack.

Well, anyway, $150 seems fine on those. I sold my last set for like $350 I think. They were pretty. They do sound good, but sometimes I like to crank it, and loud hip-hop will kill those woofers pretty fast, even with those big ol' magnets.

The 4s are an odd one. One of the first KLH speakers, they didn't sell at that many to begin with (compared to later models like the 6, 17, 23, etc.), and because they were sealed (i.e. disassembly requires a drill and/or saw) I suspect a lot of them hit the dumpster when the tweeters invariably stopped working due to bad caps. I've never heard a pair myself, but supposedly they are quite good for their vintage.

Have a set locally available for $200, really pretty condition. Good value?
IMO yes. KLH's best two way, hands down. Very similar to the Five (three way), and beautiful cabinets. I have both and it is hard to decide which to listen to. Be prepared to recap (one 4uf capacitor) and dope the woofer surrounds.

They don't come up often and are a sleeper in the line.

Thank you for your insights.
