I had that problem with all the bubbles in my first one. It was blue liquid and white lava. Could never get rid of them. Hated it. Eventually boxed it up and forgot about it. About five years later I was in meijers and saw they had the same make/model for sale. I went home and pulled mine out, dusted it off, and exchanged it.
 
Thought I posted before but it appears to have gone missing... LOVE that green and blue, and actually, I kind of like the bubbles as well.

Hi valves they were called the decades series by lava. I have all 4 and they have highlights listed for each decade on them. Still pretty inexpensive on the bay here and there not like the icons series.

So I got my first icon series lava lamp. I wasn't sure when it was made but it looks like the series ran in 1997 according to the box. I have been looking at these for years and finally found one on the bay. There's 3 others I want also but they are pricey. Got this one on the bay, kind of creepy and it's made out of ceramic. Pardon the mess.

The best part are the eyes.

As I said, Bahama, I have NEVER seen the likes of these before! Just now noticed that the eyes glow as well!!!
