Let me tell you about my recent Craigslist experience.

I would have told the fellow that "I'm sorry you're not interested in my speakers. Well, I have to keep the phone open for those that are serious. Goodbye."
I have had lots of good luck with CL. 2 guys came over to buy a scope and sat around after talking about music and stuff. They found out I was in a band and wanted to hear us, so I played them some tracks, and they really liked us and want to come see us. One guy is a keyboard player and played some stuff on our piano. Best I've heard that piano sound in a long time. Nice visit and I sold my scope.

Chiming in a little late, but my exact words would be something like "If you don't like it, don't buy them', followed by a very loud click...

I've run into a few wackos on CL, but probably 95% or better of my experiences have been very positive, and I've bought and sold a LOT of stuff there.
I've got 4-5 things on right now, including a car.

I've bought and sold a few things off the list, most recently purchased a pair jbl's for not much coin. The guy didn't list a phone number and normally I don't like sending out an email, but I took a chance anyway and the guy was legit, calling me within a few hours.

We met later and I proceeded to break the tabs off the grill as I'm trying to inspect the drivers. He said if I didn't like them when I got home to just bring 'em back and he'd refund my money. He was a real nice guy.

I did have one bizarre incident while trying to sell something on Craigslist.

Once, I was selling a Saturn station wagon on the list, and had received several calls right away. I told the second guy that called that someone had already called and expressed interest and were on their way to look at the car, but if they didn't take it he would be next in line.

Thinking this was end the phone call, he says "you got anything else for sale?"
I thought for a minute, and said "yea, I got a gocart for sale, $150."(my kids had outgrown it), now this call is about to end I'm thinking. He says "you got any pics?"....Really? He's interested? What the heck I shot a couple of pics with my phone and sent them to him. He calls back and wants to know when he can look at it. I tell him he has to come over quickly because I leave for work in about an hour. He says sure he'll be there in about fifteen minutes.

About fifteen minutes later he shows up in a 1998 Buick Lesabre. He gets out and I show him the gocart, he looks it over carefully and then says, "if you'll help me strap it to the roof of my car I'll take it" ...wtf:scratch2:. I didn't know what to say, I asked him if he was serious, and he said he was, and that he had brought straps with him. I looked at the Buick, then back at the gocart, I couldn't help it as I started chuckling. he was a good sport and didn't get offended. As it turned out though he was from the next town over so i offered just to haul it in the back of my truck for him and left for work from his place.

But the thought of that gocart on the roof of his Buick.:D

I've managed to meet some nice folks while making Craigslist sales. There's a handfull of them that I contact directly to sell or trade gear with. It's all about networking! :D
