Hahahaha...you better not mess with any of those beauties you have..this is kevin rose..back in fb jail

Rs ll with car subs...added banana posts and disconnected woofers from infinity xover do i can bi-amp..external dbx active xover to feed woofers run in series

Why in series...? They are supposed to be doing their own thing....each has its own sealed cab, and their own crossover point...

Had some Speakerlab 2.5 in homemade cabs that were too small. They sucked. Had some Speakerlab .1 in really beat cabs.

Buddy gutted some Kappa 6 but the cabs were nice.

The Speakerlab woofers dropped in the Kappa. I had to do a little work to get the Speakerlab 608 in as mids (woofers from the .1s). The T35 tweeters from the 2.5 dropped in well. I transplanted the x-over from the 2.5.

They are some of the best speakers I have.

I call them KappaLabs.

Because im not trying to triamp the speakers..the cut off for 1 sub is 60 hz..the other 125..not alot of stereo seperation detectable down there to my ears.. so I wired them like the kappa 9,rs3,rs4,etc..(2) 4 ohm woofs in series.i then cross them over with an electronic dbx crossover at 125...where the top woof extended to..i can actually go as high as 400hz if i wanted to(but want to use the infinity crossover point for the sake of the mids) ,which is the range of the improved woofers..which also are ideal for that enclosure volume as well ..i can adjust level, phase, crossover this way..as well as biamp the speakers

On aesthetics I’d say paint the baffle...not a fan of the brown front....

Thanks, started out as empty, beat up cabs, and corroded crossovers...took about a year to put together...a la cart is expensive so had to be patient and find best deals I could on components...

I lost sleep last night thinking about not buying a pair of QLS at an audio shop back in the early 80's for $400.00 They had about 6 drivers that were blown and at that time I had no money with 2 small kids, but always wondered replacing some of the drivers with non Infinity speakers.

they are right mids, when millersound checked them out for me he fitted them with bigger dust caps, stops them from bottoming out

There was a set of RSII/b locally for $250.00 recently, wish I would have seen this picture as I don't like Oak finishes on anything

$250.00 ????? For a set of 2b’s, or just the cabs..?

Interesting, did he explain how a larger dust cap stops them from bottoming out? I'm trying to figure out how a different dust cap would do that unless it somehow changes the shape of the cone and lifts the v.c further up out of the gap.
