I liked it better when JVC put the tape well on the right side. Different from everyone else.

Finally finished a fix/restore of a 4VR-5456
I have replacement main filter caps but the origs test fine.

Well, maybe not 'great' but it's kind of cool and sounds decent. Won it on an online auction and won't complain for under $10.
JVC fss d550 AM/FM CD with aux input and puts out 19 w/ch into the 4 ohm speakers and has a remote. Thinking of using it on the back porch.

a survivor. all original. i am the 2nd owner. it came with the bill of sale and 2 year checkup receipt.

i had planned to restore it but after listening to it, i am leaving it alone until it develops problems.

JVC A-X5 that I bought new in JAN 80 at the Rhein-Main Air Base Germany Audio Club. $318 out the door, still have the original receipt. It's 110-120/220-240v switchable. Added the T-X5 tuner a few years ago. Also have a SEA-60 equalizer and two KD-D30 cassette decks.
