Hi all,
Got a Yamaha ca-2010 old girl up and running from the curb yesterday!
Had to replace a power cord and a fuse and it sounds terrific hit it with deoxit and all the switches are working and quiet - only problem is all the lights stay on even when switched off!
what might this mean?

Power switch not working OK? Does it still play audio when "switched off"? Carefully check for mains AC voltage
at the SWITCHED outlet at the rear, amp powered off.

Somebody has replumbed the lamp supply. Lamps are fed AC from 2 blue wires (marked LAmps) on the power supply board
accessable from underneath, maybe post a pic.

it does still play when ‘off’. So it’s maybe that the power switch isn’t working? Would this be something at the switch in front, or the power board in the rear of the amp?

Hoping to get the outer cover off again tomorrow and send some pics. It sounds terrific, but just want to get the power switch working - this thing is HOT!

Replacement switch...

Check the datasheet sheet drawing and compare the mounting screw pattern for the snap switch at the back side of the on/off lever.

Some disassembly required -- screwdriver and soldering tools etc.

Will likely need one of these if you can't salvage the OEM RC network soldered across the switch contacts.

This is great thank you!

You got a CA-2010 from the curb?! That is one hell of a find, congrats!
Yea! I walked out to get coffee and it caught my eye! Googled it and immediately brought it inside despite its cut power cord. Anyway now it seems I’ll have to replace the power switch.

Now rush to get some lottery tickets! :-)

On the Canadian market, a good CA-2010 is worth more than 1000$CA (750$US).

Switch mounted on front panel, remove base plate and get pic of wires/switch tabs etc...
Here’s the back of the power switch

Yes . The part I posted is a suitable replacement 250v /21amp contacts.

will also probably need...
ordered the parts and waiting for them to arrive - would anyone happen to know where to find a walk-through of doing this work? Will I have to detach circuit boards to replace the switch? I have tools and a soldering iron (but no experience haha).

I'm willing to try obviously but could only find this version of the repair manual online: https://www.hifi-archiv.info/Yamaha/CA-2010s/
