Closed the page and came back with the https header and I'm back.

Should be able to clear the old cookie when wife/secretary gets back.

My firefox new tab page keeps putting the old whatever back up after deleting and deleting and...

You'll have to go into your Firefox options to change the http:// to https//: on the new tab option just like you did for your favorite tab.
