Luxman remote question

Hi all, I recently got a Luxman TP-117 to pair with my R-117, and it came with the remote - RTP-117, specifically. Is there a way for this remote to also control the R-117, at least to power on and off?

If it's any help, my TP-114 remote works fine with my R-115 and vice versa..

If you're going to pair it I assume you mean using the R-117 just as a Power amp bypassing the tuner/pre-amp functions which would be handled by the TP-117?

If so there really would be nothing to control on the R-117 other then turning it on/off, which you could do by plugging the R-117 into the back of the TP-117 so that when you power on the TP-117 it would then power on the R-117

The problem with the TP pre's, as well as the R-115 and 117 is, they all have a "soft start" power switch that isn;t a in-out power switch..
They can't be used with timers for instance, which is why I replaced the 115 in the bedroom with the 113 that does have a dedicated in-out power switch (and arguably, better sound than even the 115) to use falling asleep and turn the radio on in the morning.

That’s a fantastic idea, for whatever reason I’ve never considered plugging a receiver into the switched power on something else. Guess I was stuck on the “you plug things into the receiver, not the other way around” mentality.

Crud. The R has an input on the back for a remote sensor or remote input. Wonder if that’s how they’re meant to pair up, with something of a wired remote going from pre to receiver that just carries a power on/off signal.

I defer to @432HzBob with regards to my original suggestion, as your suggestion about the remote sensor I gleaned this from the OEM R-117 user manual not sure if it helps or not.
