Luxman T-02 pricing?

I've seen that reference, but it seems a bit out of date perhaps. It lists the T-110 for $125 to maybe 200, but one just sold for over $500 on EBAY. It is a good site though, but it just seems a little outdated with pricing. I know there are more sites which offer a listing of sales (for a price), but I was hoping someone had happened to follow more recent auctions - maybe during the past year or two.

I'm thinking of selling mine, but would definitely need more than $110 for it or I wouldn't sell it... but it would be nice to know if there were recent sales of one that was in good shape, the two I've noticed were not in great shape (and went for the prices mentioned at FM Tuners...)

If no one knows, maybe someone has an opinion about those paid sites like Audiogon, worthpoint, or something, which offer recent auction information (I think)?

Anyway, I'm thinking around $200 would be fair, since that site says it's close to the T-117, and one of those just sold for about $400.

Hate to break it to you, but here are the prices for the last ones I tracked: $81, $90, $42, $39

The identical T-530: $56, $138 (excellent shape)

It seems the top, most talked about tuner in any given line is still getting decent money (T-117, TU-9900, TX-1000) but even a step lower and prices seem to have really fallen off in the last couple of years. Blame internet radio, the Sony HD radio but there are fewer people chasing tuners. That does not mean with a good description and clear pictures you can't get a good price for a very clean unit, but it is not as easy as it used to be.

I watch the T-110 and that 500 buck unit was an anomaly, more than 2x the usual price. Seems the old data is really a good indicator of the selling price for these units but may be a bit high.

That T-110 had everything. Box, packing, outer box. great condition and all the paperwork which brings a good bit extra. This especially after one sold with all the goodies for 265 that had an oxidized faceplate. Seems these two are well above the norm for this tuner.

I saw those 80-90 prices for scratched up units. The other two are lower than what someone paid me to get a bottom of the line T-240 at auction recently, had they worked, and looked, OK, someone could make money on those (assuming shipping wasn't $100.)

Here is a quote from the fmtunerinfo site posted above:
"Audiogon/Orion shows the T-02 priced at $500 in 1986. The T-530 and T-02 were clearly worthy products. Stereophile gave the T-02 a Class B rating in 1986, calling it the best Luxman tuner since the 5T10 in 1978, but the T-02 was actually several years old at that time and tuner technology had advanced over those years. Had the T-02 been reviewed when it was first designed, it probably would've earned a higher mark. I think the performance of the T-02 is very close to the T-03, which was rated class A in 1987, and I'm not sure why the T-02 was rated one step lower."

I'll post the information below for anyone who happens to find this in their search for Luxman tuner pricing information. Here are prices for Luxman Tuners which have sold in a two-three week period in early December 2010 on EBAY (including shipping / BIN & auction):

TX-101 $80
T-110 $550 & 286
T-33 $125
T-400 $125 & 51
T-117 $382
T-2 $154
T-102 $38
T-12 $152

That is every one that sold that was available to view, but there wasn't a T-02 sold that I could refer to. But the more I've looked around, I think $175-200 would be fair for a unscratched unit in its box.

True that it is hard to base a price on a few sales, and that prices vary (too high and too low sometimes - esp "Buy it Now" prices for the low side.) That $550 was quite a battle, I'm sure it must have been very nice.
