M-4 vx M-45 Differences?

I have been looking for an M-4 to power my NS-1000m's. Found a good deal on an M-45/C-45 combo. Is there a great deal of difference in the two? Thanks.

Besides appearance.. M-4 uses TO-3 outputs. M-45 uses TO-3P outputs.
M-45 has Auto class A. M-4 is advertised 120 wpc (typically do 155wpc).M-45 rated at 125 wpc.All and all sound about the same " Natural Sound !!":thmbsp: Probably be happy with either one. M-45 likely has a little "SONY bond" glue corrosion that will need to be addressed.

I have owned the M-45, two M-65's and the M-4's. I sold them all and kept the M-4's and never looked back. :thmbsp:

I've had both and they both performed similarly (and wonderfully) to my ear. I'd guess it comes down to a question of aesthetics. Big flashy meters (M45) or understated meters (M4). Another significant difference, as I recall, is input level controls on the M45 are on front panel but the M4 are on the back panel which might be an issue if you like to fiddle with that.

never heard an m-45 but I compared an M-4 to an M-60 and I preferred the sound and build quality of the M-4.
