Mac 4100 case/cabinet search

Thinking about this set screw height adjustment feature you mention, I gather such was required because with this particular case design with incorporating a recessed face plate, the inside dimensions of the case had to be larger. Thus there was/is what one might call "slop" within the case. That the case is not a "glove tight fit".

This to me sounds very well thought out that the Receiver Case-Chassis can be micro leveled-adjusted in height within the wood case for a perfect cosmetic fit.

Thanks for the welcome. Regarding the set screw purpose, that's fair to say. If I have, for instance, a 1mm tolerance all around, I'd prefer to provide a mechanism to distribute that equally between the top and bottom, rather than have the unit rest on the bottom with a 2mm gap on top. The use of the set screws originated specifically from the cabinet for the Pioneer RT-707 rtr tape deck, which is extremely heavy, so the screws help jack it into place before installing the four screws into the front rack rails.

I imagine installing a unit into a case such as this that is of course unlike the old Mac Panlock Cases, special care and the right procedure must be exercised when sliding the unit in, that you neither damage the Unit, or the Case.

That this may almost be a 2 man job where one person holds-secures the case, while the other carefully slides the Receiver in, and seats it fully home, then perhaps after makes height adjustment to these screws which will then properly align-center and support the unit? The Adjustment Screws I would assume have a smooth-ground flat tip.

There's somebody probably out there that makes nylon tipped machine screws to prevent any metal case marring from those adjustment screws.

Then to install and or adjust these screws and feet one must then slightly hang the unit in its case over the edge of a table or support?

Same with the Feet I suppose, and of course attention-care must be paid to screw length and just how far it screws into the Bottom Panel Sheet. As too long can spell disaster.

Are instructions and all required screws-hardware provided?

I would assume all 4100 Receivers produced possessed the exact same dimensions, and positions of Bottom Feet.
That at any point during 4100 production, the only changes made were internally. only 1 external difference I'm aware of was some models had a switch on back for FM Reception Sensitivity.
