Hi, I have a marantz 2270 and when the radio is not selected I can hear what sounds like the radio through the speakers. It is very faint. I am just wondering if this is normal. Why is it happening? Thanks

I've had that happen.......

.......back in the '70s,cb radio chatter could be faintly heard from my speakers.Apparently, speaker cable can act like an antenna.I'm not sure but It occured when my amp(a 1060) was turned off as well as powered on?-Bob

It's probably bleed-through in the selector switch. The tuner is not powered down when not in use ahd the proximity of the contatcts on the rotary switch sometimes allow this.

No, the speaker wires are not acting like an antenna.

Thanks for that bit of knowledge guys! ....I have wondered what the fm muting switch was used for !!! :thmbsp:
