Hi, i have a question regarding this little model 140 i got today, and it goes as follows: How/can I hook it up to a receiver/amp that is not the model 3200?

Thanks.

Since your Model 140 is an amplifier, you need a preamplifier to connect to it. You can use a Model 3200 or some other stand alone preamplifier or the preamp output from a receiver that has preamp outputs.

You cannot connect the 140 amplifier to another amplifier.

You can connect it to a receiver or integrated amp only if they have preamp outputs, which some do.

its not the issue of whether there are preamp outputs or not, its the matter of power. I am not exactly sure what to do since there is no power switch in the model 140. I'm guessing you would need a switched outlet on the back of the receiver/amp/preamp. That would cater to 120 volts?

If your not using a turntable you can plug a cd player and a tuner and use the gain controls for your volume I did that with my 2205 until I found a pre-amp I like the 140 its a real nice looking and warm sounding amplifier.

That is totally a legit reason to get more stereo stuff. I have been on the hunt for one now for quite a while and I finally found one ( Kijiji at 5am has some good stuff)
