This is a good amp... if you don't have to pay too much I would grab it. It is 70wpc which is not a real power house, but as long as you don't plan on throwing big ruckus parties, is plenty of horse power to drive most speaker to a respectable listing level. You can't go too wrong with Marantz in my opinion.
I guess you need to weigh it against cost and what you already have. I know the 140 will give you good service and you could do a lot worse for sound quality.

Nice amp and the blue meters are beautiful. I use it with Klipsch Forte's and it sounds great.

Great amp: I've run mine through JBL50's, Dyanco A-25s, Polk Monitor 7's among others and it sounds terrific through all of them. I've found mine to be really dependable and it sees action daily in my main rig.
