Marantz Model 19 Info

Hello can anyone give me any info on a Marantz Model 19?

I have a chance to pick one of these for $50, the unit does not power up but the unit looks to be in good condition.

Any ideas on what it would cost to refurb this unit and would it be worth it?

dont really know about refurb costs arioren, but if it was in real nice shape, I'd pay $50 if it was completely dead! :thmbsp:

GRAB IT! The worst it could be is a bad power transformer and as a parts unit is worth much more than the $50. A good scope tube can hit a $100 alone.

Picked up the unit today, turns out it is missing the Fuse cap in the back I am hoping that is the only issue.

Can I just pick this up at frys or Radio Shack or should I try to source a MFG Part?

I bought a new 19 in 1974 for $800. In the "Stairway to Heaven" brochure I have (1971), it states that the 19 is a composite of three components: Model 20 Tuner, Model 3300 Preamp, and the Model 250 power amp. My unit was assembled in Japan when Superscope bought the company and wanted to save money on the last 19s.
