Ah, thanks for the tip! This was a tricky part for me.. trying to get all those wires to have a decent solder joint on one cap lead.

New problem..
Everything seemed to work fine, but then I turned it on a couple days ago and it seemed to be lower volume than normal. I had to turn it up quite a bit to get the same level I believe I was able to get before. I turned it off, and then came back later. Now it was stuck on Aux -- turning the selector switch didn't do anything. At least that's what I think I remember (there's a small chance I was just being really dumb and turning the switch on a receiver I had sitting next to it. It was getting late.). I took it to my garage and left it for a couple days.
I powered it up in the garage and it seems fine -- except that when I turn the power off, it stays on for a few seconds and then I hear quite a bit of static. I assume this is the input power supply capacitors discharging. It seems like it's taking longer than expected to power off (I'm not sure if that has changed compared to before, but I don't remember it staying on this long before powering off). The concerning part is the static. I'm not totally sure what to check next, but I'll see what I can find. Any advise is quite welcome..

Is it normal for it to turn off almost immediately on FM (about 1 second) and have no trailing static/faint music, but on Aux it takes 2 second to turn off and then about a second later there's static and basically what I'd call faint very-noisy music? It seems like it would be the same in both channels under normal operation.

The FM is off at the same time you turn the power switch off. So I can see it acting like that. If your still hearing music when switched to another source when that source is still on and playing, I can see still hearing music for a short time due to caps draining somewhere. This receiver looks to be
direct coupled, not cap coupled, so I would expect hearing nothing to very little for a very short time after shut off overall. Is it just in one channel?
That last sentence in your last post makes it seem like its just one channel.
If so, you could have a signal transistor causing that.
With nothing connected to aux, do you still get that static?
With a source still playing at shutoff,.l your still pushing a signal as the voltage drops at shut off.

Thanks, it makes sense that FM would behave differently since there's no external source coming in.

I don't get any static when nothing is connected to aux, or when I do have something connected to aux but not playing.
I get the same exact phenomenon if I plug the source into Tape In and turn on Tape Monitor.
I swapped the RCA cables with another set and same effect.
One odd thing is that after turning it off, it goes quiet for a second, and then the noise appears for a second or two.

@bdondo - do you still have your Marantz Model 25? I found a dust cover from what I think is the Model 25 with integrated turntable, but I can't find much info out there to confirm. The dust cover measures 17 5/8" wide x 14 3/4" on the bottom. Can you measure the top of yours (inside the recessed area) to see if those dimensions would fit? I think I also found the Garrard turntable that was used with it but will need take a closer look.
