Yep, aside from that 9120 NASA unit that was on ePray not that long ago...
I would venture to say yours is even rarer!
I'm going to try and get the schematic on paper for this bad boy.

You sir have hit the audio Jackpot! You need an insurance rider for this (who knows the value, maybe north of 30k). I would have a plexi-glass case made for it and put a picture of Saul and Sid next to it... burn a candle every day and pray to and thank those Marantz gods.... August 2016 is one of the best months of your life! Congratulations! You have probably already had offers.... Don't sell right now, hold and wait a little while....

Mike is the patron saint of tube restorations as well as probably knowing more about tube gear than most anyone on the planet and local galaxy. And those guys over at the tube forum can fill in the gaps that Mike can't answer. It would be interesting if you had a prototype piece. meaning $$$

Guys, I can't tell you how much I appreciate all the help and advice given to me here. I will put new EL34's in it and try to bring it up with my tube guy but that is all I will do.
If there is something wrong with it, it will not be touched and will remain original.
I just ordered a really nice acrylic display case for it and will get some nice hardwood this weekend to make a base for it. IM also going to have an engraved plate made for the front of the wood base with the model designation and prototype #.

Agreed. If this were mine I'd never sell it. It is an unique item that can't really be replaced with anything else. One of a kind.
It deserves the royal display treatment. I would hate for it to end up overseas. I have nothing against the fine folks in the orient, I know they love and cherish tube Marantz, but it would be cool if it stayed in the states...

Speaking of Samra, he is not exactly a tubed Marantz aficionado. For some odd reason he dislikes the Model 9. Weird since it is universally acknowledged as one of the finest, if not the finest, monoblock amp of all time. And I most definitely agree with the latter....
He also says he was given or inherited his pair of 9's. I wish I was given mine! Like they say, don' t believe everything you read on the internet!

I just mentioned him as he does have knowledge on variants on those models. I never mentioned having restore it. That is a very personal choice that I respect.
I also would consider holding onto it. Not gonna find many of those around. Even if it is mono what the hey!
If the Marantz silk screen in gone maybe you can contact RadioDaze. they do nice work in that area.

Oh I would never. I do however want to find the original screws at the top of the face plate. Theyre just like the normal hex heads but a little larger.
Also the cover that covers the back of the meter.
These two things could take years to find though. I've been getting good at hard target searching though.

You might want to reach out to our own Dave Gillespie. No knock on Mr Samra but i'd venture Dave is as much a tube historian and genius as any alive today and probably have more than a passing knowledge on the 9.
How was the original Marantz logo imprinted? Just curious because I've had a few pieces over the years with various markings wiped off due to age.
I also know they make high grade "decals" but I clearly am not familiar with how these units were dressed.
What would you recommend for redoing the lettering? Just out of curiosity.
