Originally costs about $1300. Price isn’t bad, probably can offer a lower price to see if he’ll accept.
Speaker is probably around 25 years old so you really should listen to them perform. The surrounds, if foam, must be thoroughly inspected for damage.

Woofer and mid are rubber surrounds , I’m assuming they’d need crossover recap and ferrofluid redo which I’m fine with, just want to know if hey, when all is said and done , will they sound great or will I want to toss them on Craigslist to sell.

Only way you'll know for sure is to listen for yourself. But if you get them for a real good price, why not try it? If you don't like them, you can sell and get you money back (or more!). I don't see any for sale, which could be a good thing...or a bad thing.

Haven't heard them, but I know they were well regarded. Those dome mids tend be pretty sweet. Seems like a great deal. I think they have rubber surrounds, but even if not and they're rotted it's like a $40 DIY fix, so not much downside.

Rubber surrounds is a good thing when buying vintage speakers. They’re rarely damaged and I’ve seen plenty…
