how can i conect 2 pair of speakers and will it tax the amp

What are the speakers? Are they 4 ohm or 8 ohm?

McIntosh solution if you want to switch between them. Buy a C28 with the SCR-2. If you want to use them together, best to use the speakers in parrellel. If speakers both 8 ohms use the 4 ohm tap. If 4 ohm speakers you'll ned to place them in series and use the 8 ohm tap. If 4 and 8, then add about a 6 ohm resister in series with the 4 ohm speakers and use them in parrellel off the 4 ohm tap or alternatively use them in series and try on the 8 and on the 16 ohm tap to see which is btter
