53k means nothing to me...I appreciate fine engineering regardless of $$$$...I have a Subaru too along with my 2 porsche speedsters and Benz 500G..etc. . . cause it might outperform them all ???? Appreciate the expertise and enthusiasm of those who know better and lean towards the MCD but looking for devils advocate......and my repect for the engineering is subservient to my checkbook and love of LED ZEP...

One thing bad about the MCD1000 is size, I much prefer my iPod. :D

I had a chance to listen to my friends Wadia 270E Transport and 27ix DAC and compare to MCD/MDA. While I preferred the MDA to the 27ix, I felt the 270se had a slight edge in transparency and focus over the MCD. Not a huge difference but .5 points better.
 
Not sure myself but eager to listen and learn from those powers that be......some reviews deduct more than .5......but I can live with that at the end of the day!! Smile my friend....roll a big one and kick back and praise our privilege to dabble in such THINGS !!!!!:thmbsp:
 
Once you have the MDA in your possession, you will realize that the MCD is the only logical choice. They are meant to go together with matching looks and build quality. Having some other transport next to MDA will just not look right. That's something that is worth more than .5 points in the grand scheme of things.:yes:
 
On the subject of build quality...the MS300 is an ESCIENT in MC clothing plus $2000...minus 200gb drive space....what gives..:scratch2: :sigh: :sigh: :scratch2:

Speaking of the devil (Wadia 270se transport) there is a review of it in the Absolute Sound Feb issue which came in the mail today.
