McIntosh MC275 MK VI Clone

Currently at 60hrs....Time to burn-in the New Tubes. The EH KT-88's are nice sounding tubes after 25+hrs, since I have used GL KT88's let's see what
these can do for this clone.

Profits are due to investors whose capital investment is at risk.

Being the business/economics expert that you are, I’m sure you’re well aware of this but I thought I’d point it out all the same.
80hrs and all is well. Everything is Sounding and Running well. I have been using a Temp Gun to meter the Tubes and Transformers (10-14hrs of running per day). Tubes at 175-195°F, Power Input Trans 90-98°F, 2 Output Trans 75-80°F (Temp Meter at rear of unit). I just got back from Best Buy and a MC-275 was running and I whipped it out for a Temp check..
...Tubes at 235 - 242°F, Output Trans 75°F and Power Input Trans 95°F (Temp Meter at rear of unit). I know the Manager and no one approach me...it was 12:00pm so maybe Lunch? The MC-275 (Real) is hooked up with MartinLogan - Impression Dual 8" (which sounds Bloated).

I worked for a manufacturer who had their products ripped off by Chinese copycat manufacturers all the time. It was a constant battle. We would find them, the Chinese authorities would shut them down. They would pop up again.
It’s not that the design is no longer patented, or that the price is really different.
It’s that somebody is trading on your company’s good name and reputation and profiting by it.
You can’t justify it by saying it’s a different market or that you wouldn’t buy the original, as the moderators and a lot of posters have already done.
Not everyone will share my sentiment and that’s perfectly fine. I just thought the group would like to hear it from a manufacturer’s point of view.
I’d also add that it is a bad business practice for McIntosh and Audio Clasics to sell replacement logos without some sort of proof of ownership.

The reading is off from the Plate...again using a Laser to read the temperature. Now the EH KT-88's had a reading of 200 - 245°F. The unit is Self biased.

I use the same technique on my amps, the defective nonconducting 6CA7s give me those temps. Good tubes add another 150-200F.
Getting temp readings through the glass is hit and miss. I've gotten a range of easily 100F just moving it around slightly, depending what it reflects from. A power transformer that doesn't break 100F in operation I'd consider to be a good sign though. Its not being overworked.
Mac amps do run the tubes relatively easy though, so if this biases the same I can believe they aren't really chugging out a lot of heat. Per the values I found on an MC275 schematic, it looks like the tubes are running right around 16 watts plate dissipation on a tube rated for 35.

VAC made Marantz reissues/copies of the 7,8b and 9 "for" Marantz awhile back. Then they made the "9b" for AC.
Doesn't say Marantz anywhere on it.
Marantz never made a 9b.
The 9b is a stereo amp, the 9's were mono only.
Not even close as to the circuit topographies.
I don't see 'rip off' about anything re the 9b. Yes, it resembles a 9 but that's about it.

Slight difference: Today's Marantz is in name only while McIntosh continues to exist largely unchanged from its original form. Secondly, the MC275 Mk VI is a current McIntosh product while Marantz 9/9B isn't.
