I was told today that it will be a partnership with Clearaudio and will be out by the end of the year.
Hi Gaucho,
How reliable is that info? I was planning to put down some serious $ on a Nottingham (now that I've gotten back into vinyl big time), but if it's just a matter of a few months I'd definitely wait to see what McIntosh comes up with.

I picked up my Cremona Auditors today from my dealer and I asked him about it. He said it will be black, have blue lights and be out by the end of the year. Of course there could always be delays.
Don't know much more than that. I'd be willing to bet it will be in the 5-7K range.
They ought to make it variable speed with a calibrated blue meter to show the speed.![]()

That would truely be a mistake on McIntosh's behalf.
All style and no substance with Clearaudio.
OTOH, if you want to play vinyl with the big boys right NOW, check out the new Goldmund DD turntable with laser controlled linear tracking arm. It's roughly $300K. (They'll give you the exact price when you place your order!) They'll be making 5 of them a year, for the next five years. Price includes sending a factory team anywhere in the world to set it up for you :thmbsp: Check it out: http://www.goldmund.com/products/reference/
That part makes my teeth itch! It means most of Goldmund's oil sheik customers will be listening to records that sound like CD's! So why play records at allNot to mention it has a digital output! Does that mean you can also use your MDA1000???!
Oh! I get it: not much oil sheik music on CD yet:thmbsp:. . . . . . . . to read that certain folks who were eschewing vinyl (or outright dissing it!) are now preparing to run out and buy a turntable because it says "McIntosh" on it :lmao: Puh-leeze!
However it may surprise you to know that I totally support them. For despite their wee touch of hypocrisy, I say, "whatever it takes!" because sooner or later, they'll move on to the harder stuff :zoom: Why, I just saw an old (and average IMO) Mac MCP-1 moving coil preamp go for almost $800 today on Ebay.

In this month's issue of Home Theater magazine there is an article on McIntosh including pictures of the tour. At the end of the article, Steve Guttenberg, the article's author, asks Charlie Randall, McIntosh's president, about new products. From the article: "Randall did give me a scoop: They're working on the first-ever McIntosh turntable, which will have, naturally enough, a black glass platter!"
Does the article also mention other new products?
Thanks, Milos
