MCs-3253 receiver problem

Have a vintage 3253 vintage MCS stereo receiver.Was working great until I tried to slightly adjust the output meters trim pots.Now the meters don’t respond.the speaker relay clicks still clicks on but no output at all.

Are you sure the trim pots were for the meters? Got a schematic

Pretty sure.Can’t find a schematic anywhere.This board is fed by three wires,Brown,black and gray labeled,left,ground and right.the other 4 connection wires are on the upper left corner.vr-601,vr-602 and vr-603 in the lower right corner are the trim pots. Receiver powers on and I hear the relay click,but no output at all.Meters do not move and complete silence even turning volume to max.It’s like something is not connected somewhere.

If there are trim pots for the meters, there should only be two as there are only two meters. Without a schematic, not sure what they do but you might try cleaning them. They do get corroded over time. Sometimes they just need to be replaced.

Since the relay clicks, is your tape monitor accidentally engaged?

I did clean them with deoxit and that’s when the problem started.I went to hook the receiver up and noticed both meters were pegged.I tried adjusting the trim pots and could only get the meters to back down to around 0 on the meters.Not the tape monitor switch.It’s a pretty easy receiver to work on,just can’t figure what’s going on…?

Both meters react perfectly when quickly touched with a 1.5 volt battery.
